Got a friend who recently bought a 2008 Bullitt Mustang with a bad case of rod-knock-itis. He’d considered rebuilding the 4.6, but wanted more zoom than that 3v motor offered. So, over a six pack of Heady Topper I suggested a Coyote out of a wreck. How difficult would it be to make that swap work?

I’ve seen it done and it’s always involved a custom harness to make all the accessories work. (Doors windows air conditioning) I would assume someone would be making a kit by now.Getting it in and running is pretty straight forward.

Reworking the 4.6 with a supercharger would be easier but that wouldn’t be fun, says the anonymous guy who won’t spend the next 6 months doing it

That’s roughly 3x what I’ve seen boneyards selling Coyotes for. Not in the budget I’m afraid.
